Rob and Debbie's Life Group "Pounding"

We wanted to officially wlecome Steven and Cassie McFadden to the Main St. family. We had a "Pounding" for them Sunday night after church.

What is a "Pounding", you say? We stocked their pantry-- with a pound of this, and a pound of that. They received some nice gifts, including lots of food staples, towels, storage containers, etc. We had a fun evening together. We welcome the McFadden's to their new home in Walnut Ridge.

"Fear Factor" Youth Night

We had a fun-filled night last night-- FEAR FACTOR SATURDAY. The kids participated in a number of activities like:

Eating bananas screened through panty-hose
Cricket-spitting contest
carrying sardines/oysters with mouths
eating "kitty litter" (we'd have to explain that one!)
rubbing their buttered faces in cherrios
Severalothers, too-- full photos will be on the powerpoint at church before services. Thanks to Kyle, Michelle, and Steven for making it an exciting evening for our children.

Thursday "Open Gym"

Steven has OPEN GYM every Thursday evening from 6-8pm. Families or individuals are welcome to come up and play basketball, walk, or play volleyball and enjoy some family-time together. Last Thursday I caught a group playing wiffle ball. This is EVERy Thursday-- come and have some fun!!

Over 50's Group Trip to the Hills

The "Over 50's Group" had an outing "up north" last Thursday. They went on a Spring dogwoods trip. From all reports I heard, the dogwoods are just gorgeous now. The group went up to Hardy, and then to Salem, and finally went to Mammouth Springs, where they had lunch together. Thanks to Doyle Dillingham for leading the group!!

Kids For Christ 4/15/09

We had one of our largest number of youth yet at last Wed. Wed. program. We thank the Junior Briner group for providing the food. Remember, we have games for the kids, good food, and Bible study for all ages at 7 pm. Come and join us soon!

Breakfast With the Bunny

The youth group sponsored "Breakfast with the Bunny" yesterday morning before church. We had a nice crowd present, and everyone enjoyed getting their photos taken with the Easter Bunny.
